AntiVir

Most already know of this program, but for the uninitiated AntiVir is a free personal Anti Virus program developed by Avira, a company based in Germany. For the most part their anti virus software is pretty good, and I started using it over 5 years ago on Windows 98. Some people blast AntiVir saying NOD32 is better, and I guess it is, but I’m not big on the whole yearly payment scheme, thats just BS in my opinion, and I know you could download NOD32 and crack it, but it seems to me that AntiVir is a great way to avoid those hassels. The only problem I’ve had with AntiVir is the annoying advertisements they have pop up when its performing an update, luckily there is a fix for that. I strongly recommend that if you’re looking for a decent free anti virus that you give AntiVir a try.
